Broza, David
Israeli superstar David Broza has been considered one of the most dynamic and vibrant performers in the singer/songwriter world. His charismatic and energetic performances have brought to worldwide audiences a fusion of the three different countries in which he was raised: Israel, Spain, and England. He fills concert halls across the globe with his famous guitar playing, ranging from flamenco flavored rhythmic and percussion techniques, to whirlwind finger picking, to a signature rock and roll sound. Broza unites the three worlds by utilizing his ability to take on the troubadour tradition, often setting lyrics of the worlds' greatest poets to his own original melodies.
More than a singer/songwriter, David Broza is also well known for his commitment and dedication to several humanitarian causes, predominantly, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Beginning in 1977, Broza has worked to bring the message of peace to the masses by joining peace movements, and by singing what has become the anthem of the Peace process, his hit song "Yih'ye Tov."
In a recent project, Broza has written and recorded with the Palestinian music group Sabreen the song 'Belibi,' featuring Broza and Sabreen's Wissam Murad, and two children's choirs, one from each side of the conflict. The organization In Search for Common Ground presented awards to both artists in November of 2006.
Broza was awarded a Spanish royal medal of honor by the King of Spain, Juan Carlos I, for his longtime contribution to Israel-Spain relations and his promotion of tolerance.
His latest English-language album Night Dawn: The Unpublished Poetry of Townes Van Zandt was released in 2010 and has received worldwide critical acclaim. View an amazing video about this unique and powerful project HERE.
One of David’s newest projects is "Poetry From The Bench," a new Web series dedicated to intimate and live renditions of poetry. In coming episodes you will have a chance to join David while he chats with friend & colleagues about music, art, poetry, culture and other issues. View the series on YouTube.
In July, 2011, David released the stunning "Third Language," his first release in Hebrew since 2002's "Ze Hakol o Klum" ("It's All or Nothing") and, unbelievably, is first-ever Hebrew release of all original music and lyrics. The 15 new songs are complex and satisfying, both musically and emotionally - learn more and listen to sound clips HERE.

My Jewish World: An Early Childhood Music Curriculum (Book/CD set)
Music can be a wonderfully effective teaching tool for preschool aged children. My Jewish World guides teachers through the process of introducing and utilizing song in the classroom to teach Jewish values.
In her comprehensive and easy to follow book, Judy Caplan Ginsburgh includes twenty-six songs, religious and secular, that will help to facilitate an environment of fun and learning. Each song addresses important Jewish concepts and many use Hebrew words and prayers. Judy provides comments, activities, and creative ideas, specific for each song, which can be used in the classroom to learn about being Jewish every day. The importance of saying the Sh'ma each morning, learning the Hebrew words for colors, understanding body parts, and the value of cooperation are only some of the Jewish concepts touched on in the book.
In addition, Judy Ginsburgh includes a list of suggested books for many of the topics. These books help to reinforce and expand the lessons laid out in the curriculum.
With a helpful glossary of Hebrew and Yiddish terms and the companion music CD, My Jewish World is a wonderful guide to making music significant in the Jewish classroom.
